Adopt a Catch Basin project by the Newark Office of Sustainability, allows citizens to help beautify the neighborhood, reduce localized flooding, and help stop litter and debris from entering our stormwater infrastructure and waterways.

This web application provides users with the ability to view the land surface temperature at a resolution of approximately 100 ft for New Jersey from the Summer of 2022. At a quick glance, users can see how higher temperatures are concentrated in urbanized and densely populated areas compared to parks and more suburban and rural communities.

Public lands all over New Jersey are being used as dumping grounds. Litter, garbage bags, tires, televisions, electronic waste, appliances, yard waste, and construction debris are being dumped and threatening our local environment, animals and public. This dumping detracts from the natural beauty of our public lands; it decreases property value, and costs the citizens of New Jersey tax dollars to cleanup.
