In 2025, Newark experienced 5 Code Reds and 7 days over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. In 2023, Newark was the top municipality in the state for heat related inpatient hospitalizations.
We want to prepare you with as many resources as possible so you can keep yourself, your family, and your neighbors as safe as possible.
Whether you are staying inside needing resources to access air conditioning or are outside needing access to cooling centers. As well as resources on how to respond if you or someone you know is experiencing heat stroke or an asthma attack.
